Micah Hopkins
×Micah joined our year-round management team in 2025 in the role of Assistant Housekeeping Manager. After several summers working in housekeeping as a seasonal “Workamper” (employees who live in their RVs, work and travel the country), Micah applied for the open position and we were pleased to have her join us full time. In her free time, Micah enjoys hiking with her dogs and learning how to cross country ski. Having come from Texas, the snowy winters are a new adjustment for her.
Skyler Reinecke
×As the Fly Shop and Willowfly Anglers guide service manager, Skyler oversees all fishing operations, including the retail fly shop and fishing guides. Skyler’s love of fishing, floating and outdoor recreation has been shaped by the Gunnison Valley since 1993. After spending time in Washington working at a fly shop and guiding float trips in Alaska, Skyler decided to take the Willowfly Anglers Fly Fishing Guide School. After completing the course in 2018, he has been guiding for Willowfly Anglers ever since. As a Gunnison Valley local, Skyler has an in-depth knowledge of both the rivers and the history of Gunnison. Always eager and enthusiastic to teach, Skyler’s favorite part of guiding is watching an angler put their new skills into practice to create and nurture a lifetime passion. In his new role as a member of the management team, Skyler will continue to convey his passion for fishing to the team of guides, shop employees, clients and customers.

Jen Bickford
×Mark & Mary Jo Schumacher
×The Schumacher family has owned and operated Three Rivers Resort since 1983. Mark moved from Chicago in 1971 to attend Western State College (now named Western Colorado University). His Bachelor’s degree and subsequent years of construction helped prepare him for the demands and challenges of resort ownership. Over the years numerous cabins have been built and/or renovated, a Fishing and Rafting Outfitting business has been established, a Restaurant has been added, the General Store has been expanded and a myriad of other improvements and growth have been implemented.
Mark has always been very community-involved, serving as President of both the Upper Gunnison Water Conservancy District and Chamber of Commerce, also on the Boards of the Planning Commission, Tourism Association and local Hockey Association. He is a golf and fishing enthusiast, bird hunter and mountain biker.
Mark and Mary Jo are an owner-operator team. She overseas the management and operations of the Housekeeping department. Guidelines for cleaning and presentation of each cabin are strict, the goal being to prepare each one as if guests were visiting her own home. She loves the outdoor mountain activities like running, hiking, biking and skiing. Over the years Mary Jo has also served on local boards, including Chamber of Commerce, Kids Kount, PTA, Mentors, Friends of the Library and Hockey Moms.
The Schumacher children grew up on-site and from young ages worked at the resort in many capacities (from trash collection to Front Desk!) Presently Sarah has moved onto a career as a Nurse Practitioner. She and her husband Ben live in Northern Colorado with their children. Luke is now a husband and father; both he and Dirk have joined Three Rivers Resort as Resort Managers. Primarily because of the participation of Luke and Dirk, Mark and Mary Jo have been able to enjoy more freedom and flexibility in their schedules, seeing more of “the world” in the off-season months. Then there are the grandchildren…life’s perfect joy!!
