He discovered his love of fly fishing while in college at the University of Colorado Boulder, and now spends his summers in the Gunnison Valley fishing every chance he can get! Sharing his passion for fishing with others is one of his greatest joys, including the excitement, challenges, and humility that only a trout can induce.

Audrey is an encouraging teacher, accomplished angler, and skilled outdoors woman. Audrey’s knowledge and enthusiasm are sure to get you hooked on the amazing, lifelong pursuit of fly fishing!
Evan Hammans
×Evan has been on the water almost every day since he first started fly fishing at the age eight. Evan grew up fishing rivers in Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico, chasing trout, bass, and carp on the fly. Everyone in Evan’s family, even his grandmother, has the fly fishing fever, and it is only fitting that he began guiding trips. Evan started guiding for Willowfly Anglers in 2017, while completing his Biology degree at Western Colorado University. Evan guides ice fishing trips in the winter along with float and walk/wade summer trips. Evan’s favorite part about guiding is creating valuable memories for his clients, and sharing the excitement that fly fishing offers every day.
Skyler Reinecke

After spending time in Washington working at a fly shop and guiding float trips in Alaska, Skyler decided to take the Willowfly Anglers Fly Fishing Guide School. After completing the course in 2018, he has been guiding for Willowfly Anglers ever since. As a Gunnison Valley local, Skyler has an in-depth knowledge of both the rivers and the history of Gunnison. Always eager and enthusiastic to teach, Skyler’s favorite part of guiding is watching an angler put their new skills into practice to create and nurture a lifetime passion.

David Koonce
×David was born, raised, and spent his career in North Texas. David fell in love with the Gunnison Valley during vacations with his family and was finally able to make this his permanent home. David will tell you that he probably gets more excited when a client lands a fish than when he nets one for himself. His biggest thrill is being able to help everything line up for the first-time angler. After spending the day on the water with David, his hope is that you not only were lucky enough to feel the tug of the fly line, but that you come away with an appreciation of this beautiful place and want to come back and experience what this valley has to offer in the future.
Holden Rexius

Holden has been guiding for Willowfly Anglers ever since, with the exception of one year. In 2022, Holden moved back to Casper, and guided the North Platte and Bighorn rivers for Ugly Bug Fly shop. While he loved this time guiding in WY, he says, “the Gunnison Valley, with all it has to offer, and the great people at Willowfly were something that I could not stay away from. I came back to Gunnison after a season hiatus and will not be leaving again.” Having fished many different states and rivers in the west, Holden believes that the Gunnison Valley offers the best overall fishing experience out of anywhere. He loves sharing this special place with people through fly fishing, and enjoys guiding beginners and experts alike–as there are different challenges presented to both. Fishing streamers and dry flies is what Holden enjoys the most, which is great because we have long seasons for both! When Holden is not guiding, you can find him floating the river with his wife and son.
